PORTNET
Transforming Waste Management in Ports for a Sustainable Future
Digitization and blockchain tokenization of waste generated by ships for the economic and environmental improvement of waste reception service processes in port environments
The PORTNET initiative tackles MARPOL operational challenges head-on. The solution emerge as an innovative interoperable blockchain platform aimed at improving waste management and traceability, driving the transition towards sustainable and green ports.
Partners
Wastepassport
Our digital waste passport assigns an NFT (Non-Fungible Token) to each batch of waste to improve collection, classification, and treatment processes. It ensures the immutability and updatability of waste data, enabling digital identification and ownership transfer within the value chain. This passport offers complete traceability of the waste, from the point of collection to the recycling plant.
Circula (CIL)
Circula is an ERC20 token designed to transform waste into value by promoting circularity. It will evolve into a governance token, linking wastepassport to real value and applying DeFi strategies with AMM technology to create a secondary market. It provides liquidity and flexibility to markets with physical or digital assets, incentivizing improved waste classification and higher recycling rates.
BaaS (Blockchain as a Service)
The BaaS platform features a user-friendly interface and APIs for seamless integration with existing port management systems and software, requiring minimal modifications. It is designed to be interoperable with other blockchains and legacy systems, ensuring smooth data exchange and process continuity. The platform guarantees data immutability and security through decentralized storage and cryptographic protections. By automating and digitizing waste management processes, it reduces the need for manual documentation and verification, thereby lowering operational costs.
Facilitate real-time data exchange among involved parties
Ensure data immutability and accuracy, allowing real-time verification and fraud detection.
Enhance digitization of the port waste management chain
Extend monitoring until waste is reincorporated as raw material in the value chain.
Achieve traceability from waste generation to treatment
Create a secondary market for transformed waste, promoting the circular economy.
Why Portnet?
PORTNET aims to facilitate a circular maritime sector by enabling effective recovery and reuse of components, products, or materials with ships. Our platform ensures that accurate information is easily accessible and that testing is instantaneous and automated, eliminating third-party bottlenecks. This is crucial for selecting materials and products for reuse, driving sustainable practices in the maritime industry.
