International Conference in Doha – Portnet Project

 

Recently, Blue Room Innovation has participated in the international conference "RTS Doha 2025 – Recycling Towards Sustainability, Doha".

This global event brought together key players in the maritime and waste management sectors to explore opportunities for innovation and collaboration in the transition toward a circular economy. For Blue Room Innovation, it was an important occasion to:

  • Present the progress of the PortNet project, supported by Puertos 4.0
  • Exchange knowledge and best practices with port authorities and industry leaders
  • Highlight the role of digitalization and innovation in achieving more sustainable ports

During the event, two key topics for the future of port waste management were addressed:

  • Sustainability indicators dashboard: A tool was presented designed to enable port authorities to make informed strategic decisions by measuring the real impacts of their operations and promoting the transition to more sustainable practices.
  • Port waste passport: The digital waste passport solution was also introduced, ensuring complete traceability from unloading to final processing. This approach optimizes management within a circular economy model, reducing risks and costs, and improving waste recovery.

The conference in Doha represented a strategic milestone in positioning the PortNet project on the global stage. Thanks to the support of Puertos 4.0, the progress made and the potential of these solutions to improve the sustainability and digitalization of the maritime-port sector were showcased.
